Thyroid Disease of Animals (dogs)
Do you all know Hypothyroid would also happen to dogs? Previously I saw one schnauzer suffering this at where I travelled. Symptoms like very fat and fatigue,... :(
In fact, Autoimmune Thyroiditis is the most common cause of primary hypothyroidism in dogs. Normally happens at the age of 4 perhaps 3 among the majority. Development of autoantibodies is an indication that most likely it is also a genetic form of the thyroid disease. So, if you are a puppy lover, it is suggested that annual thyroid testing for the first 4 years is recommended. Consult with the vet. You may refer to OFA for information.
